I'm not positive the median is the best measure for this distribution. In fact, is happiness equally distribution around a median level of happiness. Is it a bimodal distribution?

it is, as accurately as you can observe it, the only measure for this distribution. It's the only world you live in.

Assuming an infinite number of worlds following an infinite progression or regression of your happiness in either direction, the data wouldn't exhibit any peaks or troughs at all.

Oh, and it's essentially both a problem of observation (philosophy) and measurement (science). Even if you observe it validly, valid measurement is required and Vice Versa
