Last week was fun. Sunday, I went to church, and it was so nice because people came and sat with me and "took care" of me. Afterwards I was invited out to lunch with the preacher and his wife, along with Melissa (a student at UVA, majoring in theatre) and Michael (who used to live here and act for Blackfriars, but now acts for a theatre group in New York, and was visiting for the weekend. Also Melissa's boyfriend.) Free food, Christain fellowship, and connections! It was great. Tomorrow I'll be eating lunch with Melissa and some other people around my age, so I'm excited. Now back to my week. Monday, Hallee and I made our first trip downtown by foot. Our destination was the Blackfriars, to see "She Stoops to Conquer," however, we overestimated on time and we couldn't resist visiting one of the 6 (more or less) coffee shops here in Staunton. I wasn't really thinking when I order, so, mistaking it for another drink, I accidentally order something like a shot of espresso (sp?). It was good, but I was wired. :) Eventually we went to the theatre and laughed, and laughed, and laughed. And best of all, it was free! MBC students get free invitations to all dress rehearsal, AND we can use the seat cushions free of charge. It's great. Ok, on to Tuesday. Tuesday I had my violin lesson, and that went well, I didn't cry this time, then Tuesday night I went to a time management workshop, which was somewhat helpful, but I pretty much already knew all they talked about. It was cool anyway. Then Wednesday, I was so overwhelmed with Algebra... didn't understand a thing in class, I went to Math Tutoring which helped a lot. After that, Jess, Hallee and I went to yet another coffee shop, then saw "Les Liasons Dangereuse," which, had I known beforehand that it was so "indecent," I probably wouldn't have gone. However, I thought it was really good, because it really showed the immorality of some people, and how you need to really know the people you trust, and think for yourself, not rely solely on the advice of others. Yeah, so that was cool. Thursday was less interesting, I had a community orchestra meeting, then I went to math tutoring. and... now that I've said all that, I'm tired of writing. so I'm going to end now, and maybe tomorrow I'll fill y'all in on this weekend.
