2010 Reading

I have no idea how many books i read in a year.  Rather than setting a goal, I'm just going to track out of curiosity!  Rather than a new post every time i read a book, I will try to update this list here.

1. America, America by Ethan Canin (ok, kind of boring)
2. Visions of Sugar Plums by Janet Evanovich
3. Plum Lovin' by Janet Evanovich
4. Telex from Cuba by Rachel Kushner
5. One for the Money by Janet Evanovich
6. Plum Lucky (read in 1 day!) by Janet Evanovich
7. Two for the dough by Janet Evanovich
8. Three to get even by Janet Evanovich
9. Plum Spooky by Janet Evanovich
10. Julia's Chocolates by Cathy Lamb (liked a lot)

12. Four to Score by Janet Evanovich
13. High Five by Janet Evanovich
14. Hot Six by Janet Evanovich
15. The mistress of the art of death by Ariana Franklin (very strange, gripping but creepy)
16. A is for Alibi by Sue Grafton
17. Hard Eight by Janet Evanovich (I can't find #7!)
18. Rick Steve's Snapshot Barcelona
19. Seven Up by Janet Evanovich
20. Dave Barry Hits Below the Beltway (hilarious)
21. To the Nines by Janet Evanovich
22. A Reliable Wife by Robert Goolrick (a little twisted)
23. The Girl Who Played with Fire Stieg Larsson (gripping)
24. Double Shot by Diane Mott Davidson
25. Fiesta: the Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway (really boring)
26. Portrait of a Lady by Henry James (slow)
27. All I Ever Wanted was Everything by Janelle Brown (ok)
28. The Girl who Kicked the Hornets Nest by Stieg Larsson
29. A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court by Mark Twain (funny, but much more difficult than i'd expected!)
30. We are all welcome here by Elizabeth Berg
31. Labor Day by Joyce Maynard

I'm pretty sure i'm forgetting a book or two...
Do cookbooks count?
I've been trying to study for my licensing exam instead of reading... I hate studying!

I found out that the new york public library online book holding service is awesome.  You search online and say you want a book, they find it and put it at whatever location you want (i use the main branch, it's right on my walk to work), they email you when it's there, you walk in, pick it up in a special room where it's filed in the same place every time (according to your library card number and last name), check yourself out, and your in and out the door in 2 or 3 minutes with the book(s) you wanted!  No stress, and commuter friendly!  Yippee!

The Janet Evanovich books are fun.  They're like babysitter's club books for adults! haha
