Lilacs!
The lilacs, like everything else, are a little late this year. Today is Lilac Sunday at the Arnold Arboretum, but as I prefer to avoid crowds, I planned a visit for yesterday instead. I invited everyone and anyone to come along, but the only ones who were able to make it were Peg, Ken, and Ken's sister Carol. The rain ended, the sun eventually came out, and the lilacs were glorious!
My favorites, the deep purple lilacs, weren't quite ready to bloom yet. But there were plenty of lilac, pink, and white blooms perfuming the air with their intoxicating scent.
