hawthorn blossoms, originally uploaded by

I went on a lovely picnic and ramble through Stanley Park and the wildlife sanctuary today with
sea_dark_wine and
justjanus this afternoon. It was not as hot as yesterday, and there was a pleasant breeze. Everything was green green green, and lots of things were flowering, including the hawthorn tree. It has tons of blossoms this year! Much more than the past few seasons.
Also, we saw the first roses of the season!
There was a tree that had pink leaves. It looked like some sort of beech.
I got to introduce my friends to the geese and swan, and show them some of my favorite places. Our friend the muscovy duck seems to be MIA, though; I haven't seen him for a couple of weeks.
They've torn down the cool pavilion at the park, which bums me out. My favorite fountain is still not turned on. But the park looks great otherwise, and it was a nice day to spend there with good friends.
Anyone else who'd like the guided tour, just let me know! Come on out to Westfield, it's not as far as you think. Well, if you live in Massachusetts, anyway. *g*
