The (outside) sales crew got pizza for lunch today. I chose not to go to the training, as on Mondays I'm alone out front all day, and I just have to get out of there for an hour. I also chose not to take any of the leftovers, but I did snag one of the brownies someone brought in. *nom*
The completely generic pizza box tickled my fancy, though. *g*
My coworker Diane has escaped is leaving, which is very sad. She's the only one who never hesitates to cover for me if I need a bathroom break (and is also the only one who ever asks if I *need* a break), and is just a nice person in general. The only good thing about this is that they've hired someone who used to work here to replace her, and I like her a lot. She's the sister of our graphics manager, and they laid her off a few years ago (in the first wave of layoffs).
I also may have scored a scanner; I asked our Mac guru if there were any old scanners not being used that I might have, and he said there probably were. He was on a short day today so he didn't have a chance to check, but by Wednesday I might have one! That's exciting. I have tons of old photos (including a bunch I stole from mom at Christmas) that I'd love to scan in.
I got the first contributions to the family cookbook today, and they were both good scores: my grandmother's potato salad and spätzle recipes, both from my Aunt Dorothy. Woo hoo! (Ha! Spellcheck doesn't know what to do with 'spätzle')
Oh! And happy π day. Mmmmmmm, pie.
