have you ever been geocaching? finding specific items by being given directions/coordinates on geocaching websites?

No; I don't have a GPS. It sounds like fun, though!

i dont think you *need* GPS - it's something my ex-girlfriend does and the directions she gets from the websites are often cryptic rather than exact, or will say things like 'in the bush at the top of such-and-such cliff'.

obviously some will be geared towards GPS systems, but some appear to be just a more wider-reaching treasure-hunt type 'game' effect.

and usually, even if she doesn't end up finding what she's looking for, she comes away with a whole host of lovely pictures! she seems to take almost as many pictures as you do :)
