well, that was a bust

hanging out, originally uploaded by Lizzie~Belle.

Snowzilla has not delivered here in western Massachusetts; it didn't start falling until after 1:00, and still hasn't amounted to very much. The roads do look rather slippery though, so I'm glad I don't have to drive, but still. I feel cheated.

I'm glad I took the day off, though. Stress and anxiety have been taking their toll, so I went out for a long walk, and I feel much better now than I did this morning. I forget how much exercise, even just walking, helps.

I walked down to the park, where the geese looked as perplexed as I at the lack of snow. They hesitated at the edge of the pond, as if they didn't really want to go into the water.

The ducks didn't seem to mind it, though.

The rose garden looks a little forlorn. It waits impatiently for spring, too.

Walking home, someone beeped and waved, but I didn't recognize the car, and I don't see how anyone who doesn't know me well could tell that it was me. I was wrapped up pretty well in my scarf.

Some hot chocolate thawed me out nicely, and I spent the afternoon reading The Lovely Bones and watching part of Solaris. It (the movie) was as indecipherable as always, but strangely comforting. I always forget that the dude who played Faraday on Lost was in it, playing an eerily similar character. I wonder if Faraday will show up this season? Dead definitely doesn't mean gone on that show.

Speaking of which, there were some great moments in last night's episode, no? Hurley asking Sayid if he was a Zombie; Ethan (!) telling Claire he didn't want to poke her with needles; Sawyer tossing the ring into the water, and Kate crying for his loss. Powerful stuff. I love that show.

Anyhoo, the weather dudes should be cringing with shame right now for messing up yet again. According to them, we should have 4-5" by now, and blizzard conditions. We have barely half an inch, and it's snowing lightly. Sheesh.
