We usually work a half day on Christmas Eve, but the printer needed the paper tonight, so we have tomorrow off. Fortunately, this is a slow week for us, so we got everything done. We even got out a few minutes early!
Boss lady suggested last week that we do a soup & salad potluck today instead of the usual pizza, so we had a nice lunch. I made mulled cider, which I started this morning so everyone could warm up when they got in, and it was a hit. Yum. We had two kinds of soup, chili, tossed salad, veggies & dip, shrimp, fruit salad, and many many desserts. Cupcakes, brownies, fudge, cookies, and pie (mmmm, pie). Not to mention the various sweets being distributed around the building. I actually had to save some for later for fear of going into sugar overload.
I made bath salts last night for coworker & boss gifts, and it came out quite nicely. I used tangerine, bergamot, and (a little) clove essential oils. Yum. Must remember that recipe, because it smells divine. Everyone loved it.
I finished my Xmas shopping today; I really only buy for my niece, who is 17 and probably wouldn't appreciate something handmade or regifted (like the rest of the family gets). I ended up getting a Starbucks gift certificate, which she will love. I also have some nice Amy Brown notecards that didn't get given away last year that I think she will like.
So! Xmas is almost done. I just have to wrap and put things in gift bags, and pack for a couple of days, and I'm ready.
I'm really looking forward to Saturday, when it will all be over. How nice that we get a weekend to recover this year!
