No matter what you thought of the man and his personal life, Ted Kennedy was a force in the Senate, and he worked hard for those of us not born into privilege as he was. He leaves a huge hole both here in Massachusetts, and in Washington. I can only hope that his replacement will work as hard for us.
It seems strange that he won't be there anymore. He's been a Senator since I was in diapers.
When my parents moved to Massachusetts, my dad said that he never thought he'd be in a position to vote for a Kennedy again. Yet he did so, knowing that we needed an unapologetic liberal voice to fight for the people.
Thank you, Mr. Kennedy, for fighting for all of us. Rest in peace.
