It was a tough end to the day, as my artist informed me (at ten after four, no less) that the artwork for a full-page ad hadn't arrived. This is not the first time this has happened, and with the same company, and I should totally know better, but I was busy today and it just got away from me. By the time I called the company, everyone in their art department had gone home. I left a couple of frantic messages, and talked to a receptionist who promised to try and find someone to help me. Someone finally called, saying she couldn't find anything at all. Rut ro. In the meantime, my boss had found an ad of theirs in another paper, one which we had run a few weeks ago, so I left her a message asking if we could run that ad instead. Finally someone called me back, and said that the ad had to be approved by Medicare (the company is an HMO), and it wouldn't be ready until Monday. Welp, the paper comes out on Monday; it goes off to the printer tonight. She said "give me five more minutes" (this is after 5:00, mind you), so I sat in my empty office and tooled around Facebook for ten or fifteen minutes, until she called back. She told me that the other person there said that she hadn't placed an ad. I read her the email, and she finally said to go ahead and run the other ad. We can run the right one in the Wednesday edition. *big sigh*
Full page ad. Full price. My boss would be so unhappy with me if we'd lost that. O_o
I finally got out of there around 5:30. I've now been fed, and I have chocolate. And it's the weekend. I'm going for a very long walk tomorrow.
*whew*
