Why it's called "Whip City" Originally uploaded by
LizzieBelle Too. It's a bright, sunny day today, so I went for a nice walk. Instead of heading to my usual haunts, I walked downtown and over to the bridge, where they are building a second bridge to ease traffic.
Pictured is the old buggy whip factory door, from which Westfield gets its nickname, "Whip City." There's a shop in there now. There are a lot of great old buildings downtown, and a valiant (but possibly losing) battle is taking place to preserve and revitalize the area. It's too bad, really, because Westfield is a neat old city. I do really like it here.
It's so nice to see sunshine and blue sky!
