This is the first time we're putting together the paper from the new software, and this morning it looked like it could possibly be a disaster, or at the very least extremely difficult. This afternoon it looks considerably less so. They've solved a couple of the problems (categories not showing up, headlines not being bold), and Beth isn't worried, so neither am I. Plus, I don't have to do it all by myself this week. *whew*
I really wouldn't want to be in the publisher's shoes this week- it's been one thing after another with this @#$%& software. He's been running around putting out fires all week, and the phone bill to the programmer must be staggering.
From what I hear, the last time they updated was much worse. That was 8 or 9 years ago. This is a new version of what we were using, not a whole new system, so really it's just a matter of getting used to it; everything is there, just in a slightly different place. I work with a bunch of luddites, though! They really don't like change. I'm not always a fan of change, especially when it's forced on me, but I don't shun it either, and sometimes I even seek it out.
I wish I could say that I had Monday off, but, alas, that is not so. They don't believe in holidays so much around here- we don't have a single one between New Year's and Memorial Day. Hmph. I usually take a long weekend somewhere in there just for a break, sometime around February.
I was going to buy quarters out of the postage fund this morning, but someone beat me to it, so I must go to the bank to buy a roll of them so that I can do laundry. Oh, joy.
This morning, it was raining on top of the snow we got overnight, and it was quite slushy and slippery. Right now, it's 44 degrees and sunny, and it's melting. Love that New England weather! *g*
I hope you're all having a fabulous Friday!
