What to do, what to do...

So, the evil horrible job is done.  Only working one part time job is proving to be a wonderful stress relief.  However, I'm still trying to figure out what to do with my new-found free time.   A hobby would be fun.  Especially for nights like tonight, when my dear husband is stuck at work until 8ish... My current hobbies include:

Church type things
Hanging out with friends
Going for walks with my husband
Tutoring other people's kids
Watching Lost and House with my husband
Playing card games
Going to the gym
Reading - in a limited fashion - I tend to be done after about an hour

I've already put in my hour worth of reading (I'm reading Watership Down, which is turning out to be an enchanting adventure story.  Sort of like a less intense Lord of the Rings, but with rabbits.) and people other than my familiy seem to be hanging out with thier own family.  And really, that's what I prefer to do on week-nights as well.  However, my husband is understandably occupied in office drama and I'm feeling a little lost with noghing really productive to do.  So I shall ponder a new passtime... here are some suggestions people have made or that I have considered:

Speed Reading - potentially a huge skill, but I'm skeptical that I have the focus and attention span to really learn it well
Indoor herb gardening - a bit of a high startup cost and the potential for a mass crop failure, thus wasting the startup funds
Graphic Design - At the moment we lack the software and I would like sometihng I can do while John is doing homework on the computer
Quilting - really?  I mean, it could be fun, but it seems a little to crafty and domestic for me....but I guess I shouldn't knock it before I try it...

Any suggestions?  What do you do with a night to kill?  I've made it a personal rule never to watch tv by myself unless I'm sick or otherwise hindered from doing anything else...it seems like I would add up to alot of wasted hours and a lovely slippery slope to a life devoted to mass media.  Joel, I'm particularly interested in your suggestions, what with your vast and unpredictable creativity.
