Cool stinkin' verse...
I ran into this verse on accident this morning, but in retrospect, it was way better than the one I was looking for...
"But he stands alone, and who can oppose him?
He does whatever he pleases.
He carries out his decree against me,
and many such plans he still has in store.
That is why I am terrified before him;
when I think of all this, I fear him.
God has made my heart faint;
the Almighty has terrified me.
Yet I am not silenced by the darkness,
by the thick darkness that covers my face."
- Job 23
This is the best descrition of what it means to fear God that I've heard in a long long time. And then the last two lines are SO TOUGH! I want to be that! I want the attitude of this entire chunk! It makes me want to stand up and go! Anyways, that's just cool.
Other random answered prayer. I was reading this morning, and I was thinking, "Wow, I wish I had a cool verse to share with the high schoolers I get to work with" and whaddayaknow....two verses later, I found a perfect one (the one about "he rescued me because he delighted in me") and I was praying, God, I hope you hook it up so I run into one of those girls. And as it happened, the first two people I ran across when I walked in the church was two of the highschoolers. Rather cool. Anyways, a little thing, but encouraging. And we met a new girl named Elspeth (cool name, huh) who is totally interested in coming around. Over all, God is good and He showed up and I love Him. Praise up!
