Just stopping by from a friend's (Jaym's) page and I'm curious...
What do you mean impresses your family by being perfect? Do you want a type of guy your parents thought of with a similar list around the time you were born? Or do you want someone who makes you happy in a way that makes them take note, and approve of how special he makes you feel?
Sorry for pressing. I've just honestly never heard of a girl who lists something like that as a must for love.
you were dead on with the second guess. my parents just want me to be happy, and i have had nothing but loser after loser. a boy would impress my family who is well-spoken and well-read, who loves me and treats me well, who isn't a burnout.
my parents did not make lists of qualities they want me to have in a man.
a boy i think is perfect is also someone my parents would think is perfect. hence impressing them by being perfect (for me) and having all of the qualities i desire.
i think a lot of people just want to date someone right now, and think that it's realistic to find the most perfect person in the world for them by the time they're 20. maybe it happens for some, but i know too many people my age who are in mediocre relationships, calling it love because they want something like that.
in saying this i'm not denying that i was in love, but it certainly wasn't perfect love, certainly not what i'm holding out for now.
settling for less than the epitome of what someone wants is silly. there's no need.
That's pretty true. I can't understand when people are like oh man I need to be with someone, or they're desperate for anything at all.
How are you gonna find someone perfect for you if you're like that? Ya know? It's not the most appealing trait. Like, "Oh they need me so bad, that's exactly what I want because I have the most perfect life and giving personality and I'm ready to finally be someone's surrogate mom/dad." Lovely.
But when you find that right balance in a person it is pretty spectacular. Like when a dude goes looking for the fountain of youth he doesn't bitch about it the whole time. Just looks and if he finds it he finds it, if he doesn't, it's a helluva journey. No failure either way.
Thinking more people would be better off enjoying the journey instead of looking forward to the next journey they'll be on. Or whatever.

Tons of people out there, why settle for someone you don't want?
