Holy!!!
All day there was a severe thunderstorm watch for northeastern Ontario, but I never thought much of it. Then I was at work in the mall and around 4:30, there was rain just pounding and the wind was crazy. The wind knocked down the power lines and the towers that hold them up. So the mall went dark and I got to go home early since there was no power. The whole storm lasted maybe 5 minutes and then the sun started to come up. But the whole city and the surrounding aread all the way to Timmins is out of power. We just got it back now, after just over 2 hours. My yard is a wreck, my whole street is. There are tree branches everywhere and a few trees were uprooted. I swear, it was more like a tornado. Apparently, there were reported sightings of the funnel cloud. It's just crazy. The whole time the power was out, I was outside trying to clean up my yard. Now there are piles of tree branches all over the place and I think my dad is going to have to cut down a tree since it's leaning dangerously close over our deck.
It was just so crazy and I had never seen anything like that before. A couple mall employees and I were talking when the power went out and we all had never seen the mall like that before. Thank god for emergency generators!
