a silver - i mean green - lining (and the money kind of green, not the planetary kind)
Can I just say that today was a pretty crummy day (with the way this week has been going, there wasn't much hope for Thursday). Two less-than-productive meetings, a chilly wind, and the necessary evil of laundry (which i didn't do) made today just downright blah.
So I sit here at 11:42 PM playing on the internet, facebook-stalking people I would never talk to in real life, and just allowing the grumpiness of today to consume me. Then I stumbled into financial things and quickly checked up on our student loan payments that were automatically deducted this week. Of all the menial tasks in this day's agenda, I didn't think this one would bring me so much joy. To look at the numbers on the screen and be proud of the payoff we've accomplished (and the fact that we're a bit ahead of schedule!) really lifted my spirits. All of our cheapness (ahem!) frugality must really be making a difference. And I really think the Lord throws a few dollars in each month when we aren't looking.
Sometimes the most unexpected moments can brighten an otherwise dull day. For this I praise Him. :)
