I heart NY

It is pretty much freakin amazing here. I have been to a few of the world's largest cities, and I have to say there is something special about this one. You always hear about rude New Yorkers, but everyone I've met has a great personality. People are loud, opinionated, but super funny. I love the environment here. Plus all the people in the apparel industry are Jewish New Yorkers, which are the most hilarious and interesting kind.

Yesterday I got in about 5pm, and went out to dinner at this amazing restaurant and had filet mignon salad and some wine. The time change kind of kicked my ass because I thought I was tired around 11, which is what time it is right now, but couldn't actually fall asleep until 2am!! The alarm ringing at 6:30am came a little too early for my liking.

Today was a long day working, but so much better than the shows in Las Vegas. We only saw 3 showrooms & vendors as opposed to the 6-9 we usually see at a show, and rather than cramped booths they were showrooms that were nicely laid out. We finished the day around 5:30pm, and headed straight to Macy's where I proceeded to blow $250 on clothes and shoes, then spent another $100 @ H&M. I know that those are stores we have in Seattle, but nowhere near the scale or quality of the ones in Manhattan. I could literally spend 2 weeks shopping at the mid town Macy's...7 STORIES of solid fashion. It's a sight to behold. Anywho, I got these great leather low wedge riding style boots, 2 pairs of pants, 2 nice tops and 3 layering tanks. And my shopping budget is pretty much officially empty. Well not pretty much, it is.

I had a ridiculously good 3 course salad/lobster/dessert dinner with some wine, and here I am. Tomorrow should be a really fun day; after work I am meeting up with Chad, the very good looking *cough* best man from my wedding, and we are going to a swanky Xbox party on Park avenue that Mike's sister Jen is throwing. Drinks on Microsoft + cute new clothes = a good night to be had.

I have to say that this is truly the experience of a lifetime, and I feel so lucky that I will get to be doing it 3-4 times a year for as long as I have this job. I definitely want you all to come and stay with me when or if you can! I will provide the hotel, you just have to get a ticket! And the good thing about my boss is she is not about sticking together after work or working late, so I will actually have time to spend with whoever comes with me. However, that person will have to be Mike for my next trip because he is already super bummed I came for my first time without him.

Anyway, I better attempt to get some sleep so I am not a zombie tomorrow. <3
