So this weekend kicked off the official start of my wedding/graduation extravaganza. My bridal shower was really the best one I have ever been to (even though I've only been to 2). Jen got everything in my wedding colors, we had awesome catering, and it was a beautiful day. I got really great presents including a small digital camera (the only one I had before was my giant Nikon SLR, which is not so convenient for every day), stainless electric kettle, TONS of kitchen stuff, towels, a mini hair straightener for my honeymoon, wine, photo frames, and more. It was so nice and really overwhelming to know that so many ladies care about me.
This week marks an AMAZING landmark - my LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!! Thursday I turn in my final paper (already written), take a quiz, and am like free for life. Or for a long time anyway, until grad school. I am still in total disbelief it's really happening, and feel like someone is going to call me next week say I'm not really graduating - how can this be?!! I just haven't accepted that the activity I've been doing for 20 years straight is really complete. I'm very happy, but will definitely miss that part of my life. With so much important stuff happening right now it's really jarring - it's the world, and myself I suppose, telling me I am grown-up and responsible. I can finally say I'm ready for it though; all the nostalgia aside, it will be GREAT to join the living.
Wedding stuff is like almost totally taken care of, just a few cases of wine to buy, some fabric to get, and all the final appointments. I can not believe it's only a month out, but am totally ready for it to just be here at the same time. It will be so nice to actually enjoy all the planning I've done for the event.
Next stops: graduation June 12th, Vegas June 20th, Seattle girls party June 27th, Rehearsal July 3rd, wedding July 4th, day after brunch the 5th, and off to Greece the 6th. OMG!!
