Thanks, puglover for the nice card! It was a nice surprise to pull it out of my mailbox!

The Christmas service was nice, if a bit odd. The church evidently bought a canned worship service. I didn't even know there was such a thing. But there it was, a pre-printed bulletin with all of the readings and words to the hymns right there. Printed by Warner Brother, no less. (I swear I am not making this up.) Sometime since I stopped going to church (and it's been a while,) things have changed there. The church has gone from being accepting to being for show. I don't know how to explain it. The choir, the music, the sermon even, no longer provide a means for expression for the church members. These things are instead structured to make the church look good. I think that's a pretty important distinction, and I think they've become elitist without realizing it. I suppose I'm not one to judge, though, since I am not the biggest fan of churches. But I think that they have lost something important.

Tomorrow will be a small Christmas, and that's OK. My parents and I, my uncle and his girlfriend, and maybe my grandpa if he is doing well. (Some days his mind just isn't working well enough for us to take him out of the nursing home.) That will be it. I'm in charge of coffee, since I asked for a job. I think that means that I'm also in charge of Kahlua and Irish Creme, don't you? 6 minutes till Christmas, goodnight!
