Eddie, my five year old guinea pig died. Late in September. We found him on a Thursday night. He must of died during the day and it looks like he just went into his little pigloo and drifted off to a deep sleep. He was such a sweet little guy, and I think caribou misses him. We're trying to spoil booboo rotten right now with lots of green peppers and parsley.
I put little Eddie in a large shoebox and filled it with roses and other flowers. My mother said to put some lambs ear leaves in with him because he was a lamb and to put some food with him because the ancient Egyptians used to make sure their loved ones had something to eat on the long journey. So I did, because it made me feel better. I cut up a beautifully ripe orange and laid some pieces a top the roses and lambs ear. I'll miss him dearly. I gave him such a wonderful life because he was a wonderful being that deserved it.
About a week or two after that, I started fostering the cutest little four week old kitten. She was brought into the shelter after she was found in the middle of the street. Most likely thrown or dropped out of a car since she was much too little to get that far by herself. She's gray and has a white heart on her chest. I named her Lavender.
She's now 10-11weeks old and we're going to keep her.
This semester classes are not going as well as I would like them to be.
Next weekend we're taking a bus from Detroit to go to Atlanta. We're going to the Georgia aquarium. My friend Lisa is going to watch Finnegan and Lavender which makes her cat count up to six for the weekend. They'll be joining Bean, McLovin', Frankie and Cinder. She also has three ferrets and a cute dog named Luna.
I've been keeping very busy with the animal shelter. The last two weekends before this one have been full of things like fundraisers(a spaghetti dinner the at the VFW hall and then a belly dancing group collected money for us at a cafe in downtown Ferndale) and a huge adoption event at the shelter. So many awesome animals got their "forever homes" this past weekend.
Last night was great. We took the boys trick or treating and then watched scary movies all night.
