RE: GOVERNMENT CORRESPONDENCE
No more worries...you passed the final with a 79. I don't know your overall average but I know that you passed the course.
Congrats!
Mr. H
I'M GRADUATING!!!!! YES!!!!! I'M SO HAPPY!!!!!
you don't understand, i was so scared that i would have to rely upon one of my contingency plans [re-enrolling in the course, taking a credit by examination thing]... or worse yet, graduating in august.
i thought it would be the ultimate tragedy for years to come: "yeah a few years back we had this girl who did fine in school and even got into this really great college but she ended up losing it all because she couldn't pass a final exam for regular level government by correspondence."
oh the simple things in life.
well, not that i've overcome all the obstacles to my graduation. i think i've missed 5 french classes now, with #6 coming up on monday [visiting columbia for days on campus]. yes, it was that history paper i should've done this past weekend. but what can i say, i waited, and was interrupted by other things. but i think i did a decent job on it. i put in a fair amount of effort, so it was somewhat worth missing school. i just hope that i don't have to do credit restoration, or if i do, that it's quick, painless, and prior to graduation.
why can't we have a meritocracy where we can earn the right to not come to school, or at least to come to school at a tolerable hour? that would be incredible, incredible incentive to work. i'm pretty much at the point in school where i would accomplish so much more at home.
p.s. does anyone else think that jason compson [the son] from the sound and the fury is way cool? he's straightforward, he doesn't take shit, and he smacks people around. let me give you an example:
"I never promise a woman anything nor let her know what I'm going to give her. That's the only way to manage them. Always keep them guessing. If you cant think of any other way to surprise them, give them a bust in the jaw (Faulkner 193)."
now, i'm not advocating domestic violence, and i'm not even a cynic or anything. i just think jason's a pretty hardcore guy.
