I think one of the reasons why I agonize so much about going to my senior seminar is because it is my only class all day, and I have to wait until 5 pm to get it over with. There's lots of pressure to contribute, as there are 10-15 people in it. The topics today- English punk, the Clash (I LOVE THEM), paper topics, and even though our conversation was more quiet than last time, I understood it more, and I finally talked! I am working on making my presence known, which is a life skill I will need for any job or networking.
My nerves had been kind of pent up, and I started getting weepy on the drive home. I think it was a mix between listening to Neil Young's sad but kickass song "Keep on Rockin in the Free World," my emotions, and that much of the topics we cover in anthropology courses are kind of grim. I have this theory that as anthropology majors progress with their major, we all develop alcoholism to cope with the reality of the things we find! ICK. haha.
Can I just say, that I'm still listening to Knife everyday. It's like a 50's style ballad with some indie and Grateful dead space music. That's probably not very accurate, but I still love it. Dream Job: musicologist.
