Khall's recent posting about his weird dream reminded me of my own weirdness which I wanted to jot down for jotting down's sake ( Read more... )

We go flying off the road into the air, the face of the cliff wall looming before us. I have dreamed of driving off into nothingness before, I always woke up before anything happened. Just falling, and then waking up.

MiBeloved’s Remark:

The incidence which is repeated here is the one of always waking up on this physical side just before some disaster in a dream world reaches a conclusion. This happens because the subtle body is yanked as it were, back into the physical system, and we interpret that as waking up. Actually it is switching from a dream dimension back into this physical dimension.
The danger which one faces in a dream may act as a trigger to move the mind back into the physical body and when that action takes place, one finds oneself again awake here.

This time I knew it was different. I knew in my dream that I was about to die.

It is not possible to kill the dream body by the usual violence or accidents which are fatal to the gross body. When you are in the dream body, however you carry the physical understanding of reality and you apply that even though it is irrelevant to the dream dimensions.

After this instant of panicked realization, I distinctly recall thinking, "This is it. I'm going to find out what happens when I die."

MiBeloved’s Remark:

Actually this is correct in the sense that whenever you are in astral projection or are in conscious or lucid dream , you are in fact in a death state, in the sense that if your physical body dies during the experience, you will be stuck on the dream side of existence all the time and not just when your physical body sleeps.

Then we smashed into the cliff, I jerked forward straining against my seat belt, looking at the swirled brown and white hue of the rock wall through the windshield, then I felt my soul continue on at the same momentum through the rock.

And I woke. I was totally disoriented for a moment then I realized I was in my room and that I was alive. In that order. For the longest time, I lay unmoving on my side, panting.

MiBeloved’s Response:

Let me put some real information by re-writing this last paragraph:

And I again became conscious of the gross body as usual. But I was totally disoriented for a moment because my mind was still referenced to the dream experience. But I regained my usual perspective for this physical world and I realized that I was in my room in the physical body and that my self was alive on this side of existence in a living physical body. If I had died in fact, I would have been unable to reenter into the physical body or to wake up on this physical side, and I wandered where I would have ended up in that dream existence. For the longest time, I lay in the physical body, my dream self and dream body being synchronized into it, and the physical body seems to reflect the dream trauma because it was panting.
