(no subject)

Enrollment today and I have two subjects enlisted - one's my thesis class and the other one is an elective that might get dissolved because there are only four people enlisted so far. I can't believe I have only 8 units left! :D

I don't think I'll be going to Shanghai anymore. I haven't gotten any favorable response regarding my request for funding and I haven't made any progress in the past few weeks either. Bleagh. I have no motivation to work because my adviser's hardly ever in school so that means I'm mostly left alone, with no one to see what I'm doing. I spent the past couple of weeks watching the first two seasons of Xmen (the original cartoons), the first season of Prison Break, and the first season of Grey's Anatomy. I'm currently on the second season of Grey's. People in the lab should NOT download tv shows or keep them in their hard drives because everyone has access to the fiels and the laziness spreads. We have no discipline.

Mike's looking for a job. He hasn't had much luck yet but I keep telling him not to be discourage. His graduation was only a month ago and it really takes time to get a good job. He went to some interviews but we haven't heard from them yet. I know that there's one out there for him, he just needs to be patient. I just feel so sad to hear him sound so discouraged and insecure sometimes.

There was all this drama a couple of weeks ago because there was a possibility that he might leave to work in Japan. I was crying and crying and crying because I thought he was going to leave. We've talked about the possibility of that in the past and at that time, I thought I would be okay with it, if it wasn't a permanent move and if we could work out a way of regularly seeing each other. But it's different when you're actually faced with the choice. He actually wanted to go, both for the money and the experience, but decided to turn it down because the conditions weren't right. So now he's back to job-hunting.

I often find myself worried about finances. The price of gasoline keeps going up and my parents only give me a Php500 gas allowance per week. I have to pay for anything that goes over that, but my weekly allowance hasn't gone up in the past five years. I can't wait until I start working and earning money.
