Ok, okieee! I SORRY! I know I keep missing dayses and dayses with this...I've seen more critters(deer, mice, turkeys, stray dogs...?), the rain and wind that finally tore the better part of the leaves around here down from their trees, where they'd been clinging so tightly for so long. Such a beautiful fall this year...so many beautiful pictures and STILL NO PLACE TO PUT THEM! I'm going insane here...AIEERGH!
Anywho.
I'm really, really, REALLY busy lately. Keeping up with school, work, and three major projects. One that has to be done by halloween...my 'costume' I suppose you could call it, though I didn't really make it 'for' halloween. I just want it done by then. REALLY want it done by then.
Also gradually working on my project for this class...
And the project for my Geology class. It's gonna be a tight one...
At least I'm keeping busy. It's better than those months of creativity block and sitting around bored. Ulgh.
It's always strange to come home in the dark, but it's even moreso after a late-night class. Wednesday night, after my 'Earth Planet' course, I'm driving along route 4 through Enfield, Mt. Cardigan invisible off in the darkness ahead. I go past my workplace, the Family Pharmacy, and crest a small hill that rises up next to the Enfield House of Pizza. The resteraunt is new, set in a broad parking lot with an empty foundation next to it. I suppose they plan on selling the space out to whoever else is willing. The road is slightly higher than the lot, the two of which are separated by a small grassy incline. On this grass, perched with ears perked high and eyes wide, a doe stands rigid, staring at the traffic as if staring at death itself. I slow immediately, hoping that she won't suddenly decide that she must bound out across the street then or never at all. No . . . she remains there . . . frozen, poised at the edge of the road, illuminated softly by my headlights as I pass. I don't know what became of her, for she disappeared immediately in the darkness behind me.
I thought the deer was a neat moment. All the critters were neat moments...one doesn't see skunks and racoons as often as deer, and moose are always a thrill...but it was the deers frozen position that caught me. Thought I'd describe that.
Must go sleep now. I can put in more details later I suppose...or maybe I could just actually remember to update this damn thing.
OH! Ran around outside for a little while yesterday to get some exersize. This consisted of dashing around in the fields, waving milkweed around and watching the 'fuzzies' fly...racing my cat across the lawn, hitting apples out into the field and inspecting the cool mushrooms on the apple tree. We really need a mushroom book thing...
Full workday today though. Or yesterday at this point...god is it 2am already? Ulgh...I really have to go.
I'll update more later, hopefully. Maybe I'll actually manage to catch a picture of one of these silly beasts running around.
