Dancing on Ice Week 6
Pre show ramblings
It’s 80s week this week (in honour of the 25th anniversary of T&D’s Bolero win). Bring on the cheese and dodgy outfits. Also, we get a group routine. I hope it’s fab like ‘Boots’ instead of a bit dull like 60s week last year.
It also appears that lots of the celeb girls (Jess, Zoe, Roxy) have been injured this week. Oh dear.
And… Kyran’s been helping Ellery train - please show him!

Hehe, that was sooooo much better than the group routine for 60s week last year, even if the celebs look a bit shoddy. They really should stick to pro routines!

Required element: Oooh, it broke. Shadow spin (one foot, at least two rotations). Okay, the required element just stepped up about 4 levels from last week!

Interesting exit from the lift.
Not a great routine but had some nice parts. Lacking in speed though.
[J][18.5] Florentine looks VERY pleased with the scores.
She speaks! American English, seemingly.
Haha, Ruthie scored them lower than Nicky but is still complaining about his comments!!

Okay… Frankie and Ellery skate towards the helpless people… Chris skates back. Never rely on Chris in a crisis.

Reallllly good required element.
Not as good as it would have been without being rejigged because of the pain, but gooood!

Gorgeous start followed by poor required element - 2 feet and not synchronised.
Some less-than-smooth moves but also some lovely ones. She’ll be marked down for required element though.

[T] Ooooh, shorts on Frankie again, yay.
That lift didn’t look comfortable for Frankie.

[S] Possibly his best so far! Quite slow but a lot of tricky moves in there.
The skating over Frankie bit reminded me of having Greg back though.
And one of the bits looked like little Maddie chasing me around the rink.

Very, very, very pretty routine with a required element to far surpass anyone else’s.
[J][30] NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! OMG!! Week 6! The only other one in history (of the show, not tour) was Suzanne in finals week last year. It’s too early for that score. Where is he supposed to go from here?! Really enjoyed the routine but it shouldn’t have had that score.

That lift had to hurt
One foot or two foot spin? Couldn’t tell.
I liked that! It wasn’t perfect, but it was fun.

Weird, I just got a text from someone at work saying they bet I like Matt. I do, but I have no idea why she thinks that. She knows of my love for Mel. Hmmmm!
The Skate Off
Apparently I seem to like Matt (and partner)’s skating style. It’s we’re what other people notice about you!
I fear for Fred and Frankie yet again.

Second Skate
I like Frankie more than Fred, but Fred and Melinda have more chance of progressing so should really be the ones to stay. Hmmm.
Ellery and Frankie - Oh no, a fall, he’s doomed! Not a small fall either.
Fred and Melinda - Better required element this time. No Fred malfunction either.
Fred and Melinda to stay I think. And possibly with his lack of dancing skill Ellery’s progressed about as far as he can. Which is a shame because he skates well.

Of the options, it was the best choice. And I’m actually okay with it. HOWEVER, Coleen and Roxy should have gone first.
