Wow, it never ceases to amaze me how for such a large student body (roughly 48,000 students), I always manage to run into the same people over and over again. Case in point...

Yesterday, saw Gaelissa (the one dance friend I've kept in touch with) and Shaynester within the first five minutes on campus.

Today, this girl Sandra that was in LIT 4194 with me is now in AML2070 with me. Joel (one of the Nus that dropped), Vilmarie (she was in my MGF1106 discussion group and my MMC2100 lab), and this girl that was in History of Jazz with me are all in PHI2630 (Dustin would have been too, had he not dropped...grrrr). Saw my Ommie nephew Mike W. at Chick-fil-a/that juice place and Rose eating lunch from the hare krishnas.

Then, on the way to MMC2265, who do I run into? Arcadia-Dan. We stopped and talked for about 10 minutes... both of us have crappy class locations that require a bit of effort to make it to class on time. He had the same problem with Norman that I had, but I'm dropping mine. So I guess I'll be seeing him every Monday and Wednesday as we cross pathes on the way to class... yup. Wonder if he'll still be e-mailing me... hmmm.

Then I saw Patrick and Lisa right before MMC2265. Patrick asked me if I was looking forward to graduating. This is how Phi Sig messes with your mind... when you rush, you automatically assume that everyone is much older than you. So even though Patrick rushed only a semester after me, he already associates me as an old person. lol. In actuality, Patrick is six months older than me and has 59 credits...same as me. Too funny.

AML2070, Survey of American Lit : Teacher seems cool enough. He's 32, working on finishing his Ph.D. The books are all from the 20th century and seem cool enough. We have to keep a reading journal that is 50% of our grade, but that seems easy enough even though it will be annoying. He even has an option where you can keep an LJ instead of a paper journal, so I'll probably do that. Seems easy after LIT4194. lol.

PHI2630, Contemporary Moral Issues: Still iffy on this one. Teacher is 20-something grad student and his teacher evaluations don't seem that bad. But, it's another frickin' Gordon rule class (AML2070 is too) and good grief that's a lot of writing for one semester. Right now I'd like to drop it, but I'm going to try to add another class for Friday... then choose the lesser of the two evils, I guess. We'll see what I can manage.

MMC2265: Communication, Technology and Change: It's in the same exact room as Gay/Lesbian politics was, so I have fond memories there =). Teacher is probably 35, working on his Ph.D (why does that always happen to me?). He's cute though, so that's cool. Class seems easy enough... could turn out to be quite boring, depending on how in depth he goes with this stuff. More or less sounds like the class I took at UM covering the technology of journalism. Plus, the class is literally all journalism majors, so it's always good to make new friends.

So, I'm dropping Pre-calc, no question. If I can get a better class than PHI2630, I'll add it, try it on Friday, and then make my decision between the two. If I can't, then I'm stuck in the class no matter what. Kinda scary, but I don't foresee anything less than B's in the other classes, so if it ends up being super hard and I get a C in it, my GPA will be able to handle it. *sigh* SOOOOO much writing though. Ick.

Damn drop/add system. Laura said she dropped/added a class at noon today... wtf? It's not working for me. Gaaaah. I hate ISIS.

Soooo, that's about the extent of it. Taking Dustin out for a late birthday dinner tonight since he was busy on Monday. Not sure where we're going, but I know there will be Barnie's Freezers for dessert!!!! Yay for time with the husband, even though he skipped out on being in class with me... *humph*

school, dustin
