So today was Christmas, at least for my family. I woke up and went in the living room to play some Chrismakkuh music, and discovered that my mom's stocking was empty. Now usually dad takes care of the stocking business, so I hadn't even thought about it. But seeing it empty, I figured he probably forgot that we were doing gifts today (and since my parents decided not to get gifts for each other prior to the trip, he didn't think of it). So, I got dressed and headed up to Super Walmart (*shudder*).

Found both of them some different sugar-free candies (since they're on Atkins)and peanuts, then found her some cute beaded bracelets, a Monkee's greatest hits CD and some of her favorite gum. Stocking complete.

In true Arcadia style, I couldn't go to town without seeing people I knew. Saw Ronnie's parents, this girl I used to live next door to that I hadn't seen in yeaaaaars and then... dun dun DUN... my exboyfriend Mikey. I'd seen him over the summer when Katie and I went to the beach, so it wasn't that weird, but it was weird to see him in Arcadia since he usually stays in Port Charlotte. Turns out he's living in Pine Level now with the exgf he dumped in order to date me (er, yeah) and some other guy. He quit Publix and now drives a dumptruck. It was good seeing him, even though I'm a completely different person than I was when we dated.

So anyway, we had a special dinner and then watched the rerun of last year's OC Chrismakkuh episode (definitely not the same without the Yama Claus), and then it was time to open presents! Parents loved their gifts, and dad was happy I took care of the stocking. I must say... I have more fun watching them open their gifts than opening my own nowadays. But, I still got some awesome gifts... most notably two gift cards to Target (one from Wanda, one from the parents), an Old Navy gift card and a Starbucks gift card from my aunt (awesome), an iTunes gift card and a Limited gift card from my parents; Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind, Harry Potter: Prisoner of Azkaban andDawson's Creek Season Three on DVD, a Ned Kelly poster (Orlando Bloom and Heath Ledger side-by-side...*drools*), an Orlando Bloom calendar, assorted silver jewelry/earrings, a Cabaret piano book, and Florida Gators chapstick (yes, chapstick).

What I bought my parents: dad- Gavinche(sp) cologne set, America by Jon Stewart, a Monty Python desk calendar and a Gators license plate/Gator Dad sticker. mom- gold/opal hoop earrings, pretty sweater from Old Navy, Gator Mom license plate and a beautiful cinnamon stick candle (gigantic).

Tomorrow morning we leave for Disney... it's supposed to shower/rain both tomorrow and Christmas Day, so I'm not exactly thrilled. But we'll have fun anyway... I'm just disappointed that we probably won't be able to enjoy the parks as much.

Merry Chrismahanakwanzukkah people. Or if you're like me, Happy Gift Day! Hopefully you've all been good, and Santa Claus(e) will bring you something nice.
