So one of the new cast members of the Real World is from UF. He's the one who won the internet competition to be on the show. I just watched a bit of the first episode solely because he's from UF. I'm almost convinced that the rest of the cast members are all actors, and he's the only real person. Then at the end of the season, they'll pull a
Joe Schmo and inform him (and the audience) that they've all been punked.
Part Two: MTV has a show called The Paper. It's filmed at a South Florida school, and the opening scene showed a clip of their paper winning awards at FSPA*! So I decided not to flip the channel just yet. The narrator, a teenage girl vying for the position of Editor, made a comment about all the previous editors having names starting with "A." Then they showed a plaque with all the former editors' names and BAM! "Abbey Cunningham" came up. WHOA! Abbey is in Phi Sig with me here at UF! Hah. Strange moment, for sure.
Alright MTV. Stop stalking me. Don't think you can reel me into your programming with these tactics.
*Florida Scholastic Press Association. I was one of seven student reps for FSPA in 2002 and then one of two student co-chairs out of the state in 2003. Coincidentally, this is how I met
shaynester because she attended FSPA while I was a student rep and recognized my name on LJ! Strange but true!
