Tonight was the date/slave auction for Phi Sig/Dance Marathon. My date was "the Life of a Gainesville band groupie" basically. It entailed a trip to Maude's to drink coffee, play board games, act like emo kids and scowl at anyone that walks into Starbucks across the street with a popped collar. Then off to see a local show (either Fick or Ten13Concept) with the V.I.P treatment of meeting the band and possibly getting serenaded. Afterwards, either the band's after party or to Steak -n- Shake with all the other scenesters who were too cool for after parties.
Amanda purchased me for $55. Holla!
Later in the evening, Nikki, Amanda and I joined together to purchase Oded and Cushing (and Chuck Norris) for a total of $135. That's only $45 a piece! Last year I paid $40 just for Alex! What a deal!
Afterwards Cushing, Rachel and I headed up to Gamer's Asylum to set up the Halo tournament. Rock. Good to go.
I also set up my donation page on DM's web site today. You may or may not have gotten a solicitation e-mail from me. Even if you can only give $1, it's something. So far I've gotten $75. Happy Liz!
