the longest day

I went to Sarasota with my dad today, for lunch at Nellie's Deli (best sandwich place ever) and various shopping. At Nellie's, I had a yummy turkey/sprouts/honeycup mustard on a croissant sandwich and dill potato salad. I've gotten the same thing for the past 10 years, I think.

Then we headed across Sarasota, passing by the gorgeous coast, to Sam Ash music store, so that my dad could do some research on a bass amp for my high school band. I flipped through the bass guitar/piano books. Ended up getting a Coldplay (Rush...) piano book and a Best of Elton John piano book. Mainly because I wanted to learn the piano parts to "Clocks" and "the Scientist", and well, Elton John needs no explanation ;) I also found a new strap for my bass. It's black with pink stars. I'm girly, what can I say? It'll look good with the black/white bass though. I wandered around the store, eyeing the wall of basses. Now that I actually know how to play, the wall is just full of opportunities.

After that we headed all the way back to the mall. I got a couple of new pairs of earrings (gotta keep up my rep, you know), a new "Music is Life" bracelet from Hot Topic to replace the one I had before that literally MELTED away at Warped. Plus a new Flogging Molly shirt. I didn't buy much because I want to head to Old Navy in Port Charlotte tomorrow to do a little 'back to school' shopping. I plan on shopping lightly there too though, because I know the Old Navy in Gainesville is better (and Mishy and I are overdue for an Old Navy shopping trip together ;) ).

It's hard for me to believe that it was just yesterday morning that I returned home from my mini-trip to Gainesville to see Fick. It feels like it was WEEKS ago. The brain is funny, sometimes.

bass guitar, fick, music
