(no subject)
Good day. Went Memorial Day shopping in Sarasota with my mom. Hit up Old Navy, had lunch at Panera, then Steinmart and the mall. Got some new outfits (it was nice not having to pay for anything) and then went to Books-a-Million.
I got two books that had been on my want-list for some time now.
1) "The Rum Diary" by Hunter S. Thompson. I loved "Fear and Loathing...", and now Johnny Depp is going to be in the movie version of The Rum Diary, so I want to read it before the movie comes out.
2) "Long Way Round" by Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman. I remember seeing Ewan on Jay Leno sometime last fall doing publicity for the book and thinking that it sounded fascinating. Basically he and his best friend
went "motorbiking" from London all the way across the world to New York (hopping a plane across the Pacific to Alaska)... that's 20,000 miles in four months.
I'm four chapters in and it's just an amazing story thus far. Makes me want to travel the world more. Certainly not by motorcycle though, lol. Also, it's interesting how spelling varies between English-speaking countries. For instance, "tire" is spelled "tyre" throughout the book.
Then, talk about coincidences, I just happened to turn on Jay Leno on a whim (I hardly ever watch... usually just wait for Conan), and guess who the first guest is tonight? Ewan McGregor. It's a rerun too, from when Robots came out. I'm either psychic or the world is revolving around me. Hmmm...
Also weird: Two of my friends have been approached by guys offering to be their slaves in the past three days. I'd never even heard of such a thing, and now twice in one week. Talk about a coincidence...
EDIT: LMAO. Ewan and Jay are having a water-gun/drink fight... and now they're wrestling. HILARIOUS
EDIT 2: LMAO... Ewan is literally laughing AT Nicole Riche during her interview. This is far too amusing. What a ditz. The sad part is she's actually much more intelligent than Paris Hilton. Sad.
