Spike just got told off by me and then smacked around by Cassie for nosepoking Shona a bit too hard and sudden-like. I have to watch him. It's very easy to say he loves cats and doesn't want to hurt them, and it would be broadly true, but it's too easy to subscribe to the Lassie myth, especially with a dog like Spike ( Read more... )

Ha, yes.

I've had trouble staying awake all week. This is going to be... something.

Although I will have coffee, so I don't really doubt my ability to not sleep - my ability to make any sense while not sleeping is something else again, though!

I know, I know! I just meant that he's already named after three great big damn heroes with a taste for hopeless causes. And I'm a fangirl, not a classic literature lover.

(as in, I know roughly what it is and I know who wrote it but I never actually read it)

Jet does that with Ash, sometimes, but she seems to have mostly grown out of it. When Ash first moved in here Jet just followed her around everywhere, I'm told.

Spike lived with Mum's Maisie cat for two years and showed no sign of ever growing out of it, unfortunately. I'd like to think his interest in tyhe kittens will get less intense but knowing him, it's unlikely.

Ah well, I only have to worry about it for another five weeks or so...
