My friend Shannon, who is one of the sweetest, kindest people I know, will be doing the Out of the Darkness Overnight Walk soon. It’s an EIGHTEEN MILE WALK to raise money for suicide prevention. I know there’s not a whole lot of cash to go around right now, but this is a very important cause and one that is close to my heart, so please consider giving even just a few dollars. She has to make something like at least a thousand dollars to do it, so every little bit helps! At the moment she is just shy of halfway there. Go throw her a few bucks, won’t you? I mean for Pete’s sake, she’s walking EIGHTEEN MILES!!!
According to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, someone in the United States dies by suicide every 16 minutes, and that a suicide attempt is made every minute of every day. Judging by the amount of people in my life who have attempted suicide and the few that have unfortunately succeeded, that sounds about right. I hope you will consider donating to help prevent suicide.
