RULES OF THE MEME: Write a journal entry for this meme with six random facts about yourself. Then pick six of your friends list and tag them - no tag backs. These rules should be included in your entry.
1. The song "Goodnight Elisabeth" done live by the Counting Crows cures just about anything that ails me. I put it on--sometimes just on repeat, sometimes I add in the Black Crowes "She Talks to Angels" (acoustic and live) because the two songs go nicely together--when I need to relax, when I need to chill out, when I just need to feel the long aching pull of Billy Corgan's voice singing the lyrics.
2. When my brother Scott was born I was fascinated with him. One day I was standing over his crib watching him sleep and I wanted to touch his nose. I slowly lowered a finger into the crib and, just as I was about to touch his nose he woke and moved his head. I ended up poking him in the eye instead. He cried (more from the waking up than anything else, I think) and I quickly ran from the room, certain that I had blinded him for life.
3. In England everywhere you look there are signs saying "CCTV in use." When ever I see one of those signs I have this insane urge to flip the camera the finger, pick my nose, or do something weird just so the poor guy whose job it is to sit there and watch the damn things gets to see something besides people passing on the sidewalk. And, when I see those signs in elevators, I spend the entire ride searching the elevator for the camera. Only when I'm alone there, of course.
4. I suffer from an anxiety disorder (though "suffer" isn't exactly the right word; I like to think of it as a sort of cohabitation, I live with it, it lives with me). I take pills. Though, you wouldn't think that I do since it doesn't appear to be minimizing the anxiety that I bring to the world on a daily fricking basis.
5. When someone uses the words "masticate" or "matriculate" I giggle in my head.
6. I created a database for my movies. It's searchable by title, actor/actress, director, writer, genre, sub-genre, rating, language, production and distribution companies, and so on. What can I say, I needed to practice with Access.
Um. I don't have six people to tag. Deal with it.
