Green Karat

Overall, I am very pleased with the product.  I've always wanted an antique round ruby ring.  Now, I have one with all the gold from loved ones and some diamonds from my grandmother's wedding band imbedded in my wedding band.  That is oh so special to me.  I can't stop looking at it all day.  Dave is totally weirded out. I mean shit, that's the priciest thing I think I've ever worn!  I'm a costume jewelry kind of gal.  I keep thinking this is, but it's not.  He also was let in to the freakish nature of females and their reactions to other female's engagement rings.  I've done this myself, I'll admit, but more out of courtesy.

Now for a rant:

I sent these photos out to show my family who donated and boy did I get an ear full of wearing my wedding band not only before my wedding but in the wrong order on my finger.  I mean, who fucking makes up these rules?  Who do they apply to?  Middle class white girls?  Another question:  who the fuck cares?  AND another question: does my family think I care?

Finally, I was not pleased with the Green Karat process.  Communicating with Green Karat was a total nightmare.  That is not a hyperbole nor am I a diva.  They were and are communication retarded.  I do not recommend going through the process of a registry with them.  In the beginning, it sounds awesome that your family who lives all over the States can be a part of an organized registry, but organized is the last word I'd use for them.  I basically did their job for them- making sure that all orders came in and were assigned to the right person and the right account.  I never brought this up with my family because I didn't want to worry them, so I worked extra hard to keep things organized and the communication very clear.   I won't go into the specific case-by-case incidents, but just believe me.  Save some heartache and time and find a local jeweler to do the same thing for you.  In case you were wondering, I've pretty much posted this rant on every free wedding/jewelry comment box available.  I am so happy that the rings turned out the way I wanted them.  I really am.  Or, this whole process would have been for nothing.
