Tammy called (well, texted) tonight to see if I wanted to go see
Bedtime Stories with them (they were buying my ticket, so I wasn't losing anything), and surprisingly, it wasn't truly awful. Not up to the potential I think it could have had, but still kind of amusing. The guy in the row behind us certainly seemed to think so, at any rate. I think Adam Sandler was trying to restrain himself a little, and it worked for him. I've seen better from Keri Russell, but she was not given much help by the script. The rest of the cast was a strange mashup of American actors, British actors playing Americans, and Australian actors playing Brits. Or something like that. Jonathan Pryce was Adam Sandler's dad, the fat uncle from Harry Potter was a germophobe hotel mogul, and Russell Brand was the sidekick apparently channeling Ricky Gervais. And for some reason, almost every actor in the film had visibly bloodshot eyes - it was a little odd. Also, the little boy who played Patrick is pretty much the cutest thing ever.
Based on the previews we saw,
Race to Witch Mountain looks kinda fun (and Dwayne Johnson looks kinda hot - I don't know exactly why I have a thing for him, but I do), and I definitely want to see Pixar's next one,
Up - the teaser trailer alone was making me laugh. Oh, and Scrat and the ever-present acorn have returned in
yet another Ice Age teaser.
Half-day at work tomorrow - woohoo! Unfortunately, it is the first half of the day, which means I really need sleep.
