Generic Update
Just a basic update on the happenings of Mandy...
I've had bronchitis for the past couple of weeks. Still the occasional cough but I'm getting over it after a round of antibiotics and a small relapse late last week. Fox eventually all but forced me to sleep it off - he reasons that when sick, sleeping frees up your body's energy to fight off the illness, so the best way to get over it quickly is to sleep a lot. I slept away my entire Thursday last week, reluctantly since I hate not being productive, but I can't argue with the results, I feel much better since then. Just trying to be careful to keep up with getting enough rest every night so I continue to get better.
Rachel and I are prepping for this year's AnimeUSA like crazy. We're sewing and stuffing our Squees! What's a Squee? I'll be setting up an actual website for us this time around, and once I do, all will be revealed. :3
Fox's house party was this past weekend, I went and dragged Rachel along with me. It was fun, and my first experience being drunk. I didn't go overboard, just enough to make me a little unsteady on my feet. It was something of an experiment, I have no intention of becoming a habitual drinker, but I've been wanting to see how it affects me, so I know whether or not I CAN be a social drinker if I want. I'm happy to report I'm not a nasty drunk, though I do seem to get more assertive and more confident.
...and somewhere during the night I slipped into a southern accent. To those who don't know, my entire family is from South Carolina, and when I get excited or angry (or drunk, apparently) I can start talking like I'm "back home." Well, I got stuck. For a good part of the evening I was a source of great amusement for people who suddenly wondered why I was talking different. XD
The house is coming along well, if a little slow just from other commitments and life events getting in the way. Once I find where I packed the cord for my digital camera, I'll post some photos to show off how awesome my abode is starting to look. :3
