Jan 08, 2008 13:51

If they even have them with the Writer's Strike about and with all the buzz coming from all these films and the awards that have been announced I can now compile what I think will be the nominations and winners(keep in mind I'm trying to keep in a mindset of an Academy member):

BEST ACTOR:
Viggo Mortenson-Eastern Promises
Daniel Day Lewis-There Will Be Blood
Johnny Depp-Sweeney Todd
George Clooney-Michael Clayton
Emile Hirsh-Into the Wild

winner: It's definitely going to be either Daniel Day or Viggo

Keira Knightley-Atonement

winner: Julie Christie

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR:
Tom Wilkenson-Michael Clayton
Philip Seymour Hoffman-Charlie Wilson's War
Javier Bardem-No Country for Old Men
Casey Affleck- Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
Into the Wild-Hal Holbrook

Winner: Javier Bardem(but I wish it were Tom Wilkenson or Philip Seymour Hoffman)

BEST DOCUMENTARY:
Sicko
Darfur Now
No End In Sight
The King of Kong
Lake of Fire

winner: Sicko

BEST ANIMATED FEATURE:
Ratatouille
Bee Movie
Persepolis
usually there's only 3 in this category but if they add another one it will probably be Simpsons but I doubt it.

Winner: if Persepolis gets nominated for this category perhaps that one, if not Ratatouille better win it...

I don't know anything about music, cinematography, sound effects, etc so I won't be bugged with that. I haven't even seen the Foreign or Documentary movies but given the buzz behind them they seem Oscar-like.

now for the main cheest:

BEST PICTURE:
No Country for Old Men
Atonement
There Will Be Blood
Kite Runner
Michael Clayton

winner: No Country for Old Men
