The day before NaNoWriMo - I mean, Halloween

Oct 31, 2013 14:39

We went to what was supposed to be a pumpkin carving party Saturday night but since Halloween isn't until Thursday we decided not to cut them and risk having them rot also maybe there was laziness and wine involved... I saw a college friend I hadn't seen in more than ten years, so that was awesome.

So last night turned into our main pumpkin carving event at the house. Pics later when I can use the actual camera because I can't figure out how to increase the shutter time on my cellphone camera to take dark pics.

It's the day before NaNoWriMo somehow and I'm woefully underprepared. I know what I'm going to do - original fantasy - but oh lord, I still lack most of the names, secondary plots, you know... everything except the bare bones. I'm not even sure if I want it to be an Alternate Earth or a Secondary world - advantage of Actual Earth -- GEOGRAPHICAL KNOWLEDGE. I know what the Earth looks like! Especially places I've been, woot! Advantage of Non_Earth - I can make shit up (also a disadvantage since I have to make up EVERYTHING). Plus, let's be honest more secondary worlds only make up a continent's worth of stuff even if the events really ought to be world-wide and that's also an advantage, because a whole planet's a whole lot of land to do someething with, and at a point you might as well throw in the towel, because it's gonna look like Earth anyway.

Ugh, so yeah, I better figure that out. Secondary is probably better, but altered Earth is easier. Except for where it's not. *sigh*

Happy NaNriMo Eve and Happy Halloween all!
*throws zombie brains everywhere*
