Thursday night comedies!
By which I mean Vampire Diaries and Person of Interest, not those half hour things. Because OMG they were both quite funny last night.
"THey move into town and now they want a housewarming gift?!" ah, Damon.
Pretty dresses! Dudes in tuxes! Matt not having health insurance! (dude, Caroline is a vampire - let her help you out again).
aw, poor Caroline, so freaked out by Klaus' courting. And yet Klaus is kind of adorable in his puppy love. I have no idea where it came from either, since he hadn't even been around her all that much before, but you know, it's always nice when anyone realizes what a BAMF she is.
Also, OMG Esther. I kind of love her, I think. That's hardcore. Though I would argue that she got the anti-mother-of-the-year award when she cursed her children into vampires (oh, and also, made them you know HUMAN KILLING MONSTERS). At least she's trying to clean up the wrong she did, and it's not like they haven't been alive an extra long time as it is. And is the one in on it with her the one that's been daggered for a zillion years? because that actually makes some sense (that he speaks English less so, but eh, his mother's a SuperWitch, we'll pretend she has translator microbe spells or whatev). THat's a long time to be in magical stasis.
Though I did have the momentary suspicion that she may include ALL vampires as her children. All vampires after the Originals are created by them, continuing their corrupted bloodline. Maybe she truly means only the Originals, but if I were writing it, I have to admit I would reveal that it would kill all the vampires, not just the five kids.

But hm, I'm no Damon expert or even a fan of his, and I know he does have controlling and overprotective tendencies, and always has, but this one felt too inorganic to me. It was like PSYCHO levels of controlling and overprotective. I guess maybe Klaus' zinger of how Elena's in more danger because of them maybe came home to roost in a bad way. (which is kind of laughable to me, because HELLO, KLAUS IS THE REASON FOR 90% of her danger, between his god-forsaken family, Katherine and various other people trying to user her as leverage against him, even most of the danger she's been in because of the Salvatores specifically was directed at Klaus. so SHUT UP KLAUS). But anyway, it came off as ridiculous and over the top because she's there, and if Esther wants to kill her there is in fact DIDDLY that Damon can do to stop her, with the entire Original family there to assist her.
Stefan: "Sure, I AM TOTALLY FOCUSED ON NOTHING BUT KILLING KLAUS not at all anything to do with you as I look completely bereft as I stare at you across the room." uh huh. Glad Elena didn't buy that one in the end. But at least we finally got some actual confirmation that yes, he knows and he's suppressing on purpose. oh bb, you have so many issues.
Though I do think it an interesting thing that we know NOTHING of how he's been eating lately. Is he still killing people? Is he on blood bags? is he trying to do the squirrel thing and go to vampire AA? (sidenote: I still wonder whether the Mikael diet of vampire blood would actually work for Stefan, or if that's only a Mikael thing.)
also, I am forever sad that Caroline and Stefan are practically on different planets these days. *sigh* When even Klaus gets to talk about how she's so brilliant and all things wonderful, it just makes me think that y'know, there's this person who y'know has this separate connection to Stefan. And she might have a few things to say to him and he would actually listen to her (where I think some of Elena's words fall on deaf ears, because he knows they'll never get back what they had, whereas he and caroline could, because they don't have as far to come back). Anyway, I hope they get to be together soon and talk. :(

I'm not sure if that was fourth-wall breaking or just meta, but it was certainly funny. At least the show doesn't take itself too seriously and knows what tropes they're using!
And yes, now we have a Robin to add to our stable. lol. I swear I would've been perfectly fine with Reese answering that his name was Batman, when the kid asked him.
OMG so much love for Reese in this ep. He seemed so ... charmed by the kid. *flails* And also, holy shit PLAN B. "on my signal cut the power. .... That was the signal." LOLOLOL
AND HE STOLE CARTER'S CAR. and she just looked after him like "god damn it, this is what I get for mixing with the crazy dude, isn't it?"
Oh and how he had to swallow his tongue and admit Fusco's his friend. GOD REESE JUST ADMIT IT ALREADY. Dude took a bullet in the ass you can at least say he's your friend without choking on it. Ok, he did try to kill you, but c'mon, get over it. lol
Though the ominous nature of the machine, and its protectiveness of Finch definitely came out in the open this time. I'm still wondering if "Root" is Stanton, and whoever she is, is obviously not doing good things, but otoh, there may be a point where Root will be the one trying to take it down as a good thing.
