I have nothing to say that isn't spoilery.
GODS, where to start? *deep breath*
okay, let's start at the beginning. Gaeta. Oh Gaeta, why can't you use some of that cleverness and do something USEFUL with it, like figure out where THE REST OF HUMANITY is going to live? Instead of, y'know, a plan which is going to get a lot more of the fragile flowers you supposedly feel so strongly about getting themselves dead. I'm sorry that his life is so shitty, and yeah, Papa and Mama Bear are really not doing a great job, but this is not the way. But nonetheless, a very clever plan, hinging on Gaeta being the place where communications come into CIC. And he was being so "helpful"... (AJ seriously was bringing it. really, fabulous nuanced performance.)
Tigh's face when he sees Roslin come out in her robe ... PRICELESS. omg. But this and the later scene in CIC was an interesting reversal - old days, Tigh would've done his urge to violence and Adama wouldn't have listened, now he does. So, yeah, I gotta say, Gaeta's right about that-- Adama's not the commander he was (but then Gaeta's not the bright shiny officer he was either, so WTF does he expect?)
oh KARA, you are so badass when you get your Starbuck on. "fight 'em til we can't." Same old fight, new faces. And her and Lee being all teamy was awesome. Good thing Kara went to the flight deck when she did.
And Saul and Bill were even more impressive in some ways, since they started out as prisoners. Not-manacled, poorly guarded prisoners... but then, Gaeta's underestimating Bill in many ways.
Though not so much as he's underestimating Laura Roslin, methinks. Because if Gage thinks Adama was in a fury to get his men during Pegasus - he ain't seen nothing yet when Laura roslin takes back HER FLEET. And her man, but especially her fleet. Her speech was awesome.
(oh, and Gage and Narcho, it's really too bad you both didn't DIE on Pegasus. because obviously you're both still the sick frakkers you were then. Hoshi and Laird (OH LAIRD!) were the only decent people left apparently.)
I hope Racetrack reconsiders, and wasn't as involved, but ... I think fanon has possibly been more kind to her than she deserves. Or maybe getting three human murders (possibly including some friends, given they were Raptor pilots) swept under the rug to protect the alliance was the last straw. Very disappointing to see her involved in Lee's taking (not so much the Zarek-freeing, since that was pretty much expected, but to let Skulls hold a GUN to Lee's head? She did seem a bit shocked by it all, so hopefully she'll realize it's all going to hell in a handbasket)
Seelix, I hope you die. Standing there and watching those two frakkers beat Sam? Finding out that Sam was a Cylon totally flipped your switch into thinking he's Cavil that easily? Jealousy that he never returned your crush? Disgust that you had a crush on a Cylon, even though you KNOW he didn't know? Once a sadistic bitch always one, I guess.
(but I do have to say that watching that was even more layers of horrible, because it occurred to me that she probably would have killed a stand-in, if Trucco hadn't been able to come back to the show. Sam very nearly died RIGHT THERE. *gulp* That would've been extremely hard to watch if he'd really been paralyzed or killed or something else awful in RL)
Tyrol, I have to take back some of my hate for you from last week. This week? You know what to do and you do it. Next time, more forcefully tell Lee to shut it, though. NOT ALL CYLONS ARE KILLERS, mmkay? (I realize Lee's main job in this is to remind the audience that Zarek and Gaeta do have good points, but seriously? Getting in TIGH's single EYE about how Tigh nuked the Colonies? I would like just one of the Five Three to point out that they were NOT INVOLVED, know nothing, and in fact have made their own choices to help the humans, just as the humans do. Even if they may not know it for a fact - at least frakking SAY it)
AGATHONS. All the Agathons in a cell. Even Hera. how can anyone with any claim to moral high ground WHATSOEVER put a little girl in a cell? I hope Athena and Caprica and Helo don't even leave little pieces for Kara to play with.
And I hope Sam comes against Seelix or Connor again. Then he can remind them that HE was the one who walked away from killing Gaeta, they didn't. Failing that, he can shoot them both.
oh, man, someone just pointed out that Jafee, the kid who died in CIC after running down to fire control and back. Was basically Adama's steward, brought him coffee at least as far back as Day in the Life. No wonder Adama was pissed.
And also, CAPTAIN KELLY's back. Was wondering if he was still alive. And boy does he have a grudge, I'm sure. (eta: he's been in CIC, right? I know he was LSO, but he was also in CIC for awhile, IIRC. So why isn't he in CIC helping Gaeta? Gaeta afraid that Kelly outranks him and would take over? Or having a mad-bomber on his team maybe isn't all the rage this year?)
Okay, yes, I am all about TEAM CYLON. But I have to agree with one poster that it'd be hilarious if Cavil came back right now. Dark, but hilarious. GOOD LUCK THERE "Commander" Gaeta.
