TEEVEEE

We're watching Daniel Dae Kim in the new Andromeda Strain... It's so weird. After seeing him only in Lost, I kinda forgot what a nice speaking voice he has. At least in, er, a language I understand, I guess.

(OMG, GONNA BE SO DEAD. *whimper*)

ahem. Anyway. It's an interesting remake, with a nicely updated cast, though I wish one of the Scott brothers had directed it instead of just producing. It could use some... oomph at the beginning.

heh. okay, this is good -- flashback sequence for how the infection hits. Best line: the townfolk are looking at the thing that fell from the sky, and one of the women asks, "Do you think it's alien?" And the smart ass boy says, "And that's why it has 'USA' on the side?" And she snaps right back, "What? You think aliens can't spell?" *CHORTLE*

Yay, female fighter pilot is going to drop the nuke! Boo, she's going to die horribly! And Eric McCormack looks like Trucco in long shots, especially in filtered light, it's a bit disconcerting.

And there's Colin Lawrence for those playing Vancouver Bingo at home.

Speaking of Bingo, last night we saw a movie with Mister Center Square, Callum Keith Rennie, in Invisible on cable last night. Odd little film directed by David Goyer. The central idea was stretched WAY out beyond what it could bear, and the main protagonists were really unlikeable (seriously? I was wishing both the boy and girl would die by the end). Best part was seeing Alex O'Loughlin as a really bad dude - very different from his role in Moonlight. CKR was the detective (of course) investigating the attempted murder that underlies the movie.

Otherwise, not much going on here -- one kiddie birthday party, one kiddie playdate, one barbecue with family, and replacing the sand and cleaning out the sandbox for kidlet. many interesting bugs were discovered for Rugrat to inspect (oh GODS, I did not need to know about all the fauna in the sandbox, I really didn't....)
