What's going on now

I wanted to remember this.

Thursday the 12th.

Free tickets for the Reverend Horton Heat Concert. The Tossers and Murder by Death too.

I went with Justine which was pretty cool but, It may have been a better choice to go with a girl who wasn't one of my friend's girlfriends. We had a pretty good time though. Well, an amazing time.

We saw the concert at the metro, across the street from Wrigley Field. Almost everything worked out really well. We get off the train after two or three stiff drinks and decide to get more before the show. We stop in at the Wrigley market just a block south of the stadium. They have naked juice and vodka so we're set and to my surprise they had Nat Shermans. I was pretty amazed since I didn't get a chance to get down to Churchills and Down before the train to the show.

N the road to the show we pass what can only be described as the reason I love Chicago. It's always so big at night, so big it doesn't really even notice you. We get to the door and as Justine is finishing her cigarette I spot a guy with a white leather tuxedo engulfed in orange flames. He's smoking too.I say nice jacket and we talk about the show for a second.

The coolest part of being a DJ.

Justine and I are at the willcall booth and they can't find my name on the list. Then I say " Oh, I'm a DJ, I'm here with my radio station." I'm on the "industry" list. It seemed to both of us that that was way too cool for me.

When the band gets on stage I see that the guy with the flamed tux is Jim Heath, the frontman for the band. The show was amazing and I got thrown around in the mosh pit for about 3 hours. It's like I felt the music or, that I was participating in it.

After the show I did a show with Carl. Rachel was there too, and Justine and Clayton stopped by for a second. I loved the show, well untill my buzz wore off and Carl started in with his Carl shit. It's like personification of the word pretentious. He's the reason indie bands have those fucked up names. Arcade Fire's new album is pretty good and THE STOOGES, so fine.

At 8am Ellen Calls. I was already up but, that's early. She was as amazed as I was by the show.

Good times coming up. Next week tommy comes up and Ashlyn is on her way to LF. Hopefully they don't both come up at the same time.
