It's been a good day for me today, and I judged that it was worthy of a post. My day began with advisement! I'd like to think that my Franklin advisor knows what she's talking about (because I've heard horror stories of bad advisors), and I've decided on a concentration. I'm going into nursing! Can you see me tending to the sick? I can, but I may be the only one... Anyway, back to my story. UGA doesn't have a Nursing program (GAH!) and I absolutely love it here, so that is a bit of a bummer. But, since this is something I want to do and I think God wants me to be, I figure something will work out. I can either transfer after next year (which I don't want to do-staying here would be ideal!), go to nursing school in Athens (eh...), or graduate from here and then go to Nursing school (I found out that at Medical College of Georgia you can no longer just transfer there after two years of Pre-Nursing, but that you can come with a Bachelor's degree and then get your Masters in Nursing! Which was what I wanted to get anyway!). I kind of dropped a bomb on my mom today. I called her and was like, "I think I'm going into nursing." And then explained that I wanted to go to college for two years longer than she was planning on paying...oops. Forgot to tell her how I might like to go to grad school. SO, I'm hoping that this whole thing will work out. Graduating from UGA seems like the best option because if it turns out I'm not made for nusring then I can do whatever it is my major was. It's all very complicated and I still need to discuss this more with my parents and research. Ugh. But' oddly enough, I'm not too worried about this. I'm excited to know what it is that I want to do, which has been kind of worrying me for a while. Yay for having a sort-of major? And after this semester, I will be done with most of my core. Boo-yah. And sorry if my nursing spiel was confusing. I apologize!
And then, I got a 95 on Psychology test! The semester is shaping up quite nicely. I love my classes. I'm taking History of Popular Music (which involves learning the roots of pop music- folk, latin, Native American, etc.), and we have to do group presentatiions. Ours is on musicals and it is going to be amazing! I'm actually excited about a project. I'm covering the musicals "Rent", "Chicago", and "Hair" and then doing a segment on Andrew Lloyd Webber. It's going to be great! Life is just exceedingly good right now for me. I'm so blessed with an amazing family, a good school, FANTASTIC friends. Today has just been one of those days that has been enjoyable. My favorite type! Oh, and subbed for basketball band today and had a blast! I am so doing that next year. Well, I need to get to bed. There's some studying that I need to do, but I think sleep will be more important tonight.
