So, here are 20 random facts about me. You probably had no desire to know this much about me, but here goes!
1. As a kid, I had a fear of crossing streets. I think this fear has come back a little bit, because I dread crossing the street without a throng of people. It's probably dumb to be afraid of that, but I am.
2. I think about my mission trip to Puerto Rico just about every trip. I miss it still. It was probably one of the best experiences I've ever had, so it's good that I think about it. I think of all the people I met and my random Spanish phrases. I try to incorporate some into my everyday life and I'm excited that I'll learn more once I take Spanish.
3. I have several favorite colors, but I think my favorites are becoming green and purple. It's funny, because I started really liking purple after I graduated. Green is probably my favorite color to wear because my eyes turn CRAZY GREEN! And purple is just rich and beautiful!
4. I wish that I dressed cuter. I always think I look like a bum. I love t-shirts and jeans, but there are days when I wish that I looked a little bit more presentable.
5. I have way too many regrets. Not really regrets so much, as it's just reminders of things I wish I had done or didn't do, or all those times when I messed up. FOr some reason, I never seem to forget them.
6. The sink in my dorm room has brownish water coming out of it. It's really gross, and what's even more disguisting is that I've been drinking from it for about the past month. That's not a random fact about me, but I felt like sharing. Must talk to my RA about that.
7. I tell a lot of stories. For some reason, when something odd/funny/good happens to me, I share it. I don't always tell the best ones, but then I use the excuse that I found $20. I like my stories, so that's all that matters!
8. One of my favorite times up here at college is when I'm walking to my 8:00 class. I hate that I have to wake up that early, but I love the walk. The air is so cool and the campus just looks beautiful. I love it, for some reason.
9. I also really enjoy that 8:00 class. Dr. Quick is awesome. He reminds me so much of my youth pastor, Chris. Except not a pastor.
10. All the pictures that are taken of me in my band uniform look really awkward. And pictures of me playing my trumpet are even worse.
11. I have renamed the creek outside my dorm "the Bog of Eternal Stench" (like in Labrinth!). It seriously smells like the funk.
12. I love my dorm room. Besides the sink secreting brown water, it's so comfortable here. I miss things about home, but life here is pretty good. I like to think that I can make the best out of most situations.
13. I have a great relationship woth my parents. Last time I went home, I was sitting with my mom and Jay at the dinner table after lunch and we talked for a long time. I love how I can just talk to them. I was thinking that a lot of people my age can't do that with their parents, and I'm thankful that I can. I love 'em.
14. I hate Hurricane Katrina. I'm sure everyone pretty much does. I just feel like there's nothing I can do about it. I can't give blood till October 3rd, I've donated money (but plan on giving more). I wish there was more I could do. I'm so sad about New Orleans. i loved my short trip there and I was hoping to go back. I hope the city will be able to recover.
15. The meal plan will be the death of me. I'm predicting that by the end of this year, a lot of my arteries will be clogged. They always have chicken tenders (some of my favorites). I'm not doing that bad on eating healthy stuff, but I could do better. Freshman 15 here I come!
16. I'm taking karate, and it's actually really fun. I get a good work out, which I need. When my instructor stretches, he reminds me of a rubber band! It's fun.
17. I need to find a church to go to in Athens. I miss my church a lot and I definitely need something like that here. But, I'm excited about going home next weekend!
18. I love all the little quirks and traditions the band has here. "Water time is it?" "Six-thirsty?". And they throw flags! I love it.
19. I need to write some letters. I've been putting a few off for a while. I love getting mail, so I guess I should share that love with other people.
