Seasons of Love
I realize I speak quite a bit on this topic lately, but it is rather important to me. And hey, this has got to be better than my endless bitching about being unemployed. (Sent out a bunch more applications today, BTW, wish me luck!)
aquaventure came over yesterday and we went over cake recipies - what a sweetheart! He's making us up some samples so we can "try before we buy" so to speak... *is madly excited*
Speaking of buying, today we went down to Silverado and finalized the order for Mike's ring - I'm keeping my turquoise in Silver one, and we're getting him an Onyx in silver (the Onyx is standing in for Obsidian, which has personal meanings for us...) It needs to be resized, but we'll have it soon, and we got quite a deal on it!
After that we went to a different jewlery store to get the marriage license... couldn't stop giggling when the poor lady read out the bit about "the following relationships are unlawful in the province of Saskatchewan: grandparent, child, sibling..." etc etc. She apologized, and said she hates reading that bit - she's terrified of the day when somebody goes "Oh, really? ...damn. Nevermind, then." I noticed that the columns on thier form for couples they gave licences to were marked "Bride" and "Groom" and I wondered what happened when there was two of one and none of the other - she said she didn't know but *pointed* these gentlemen figured it out somehow. Maybe they play rock, paper, scisors.... Hee. Stupid outdated forms. :)
On a final wedding note, the gift I mentioned from hezmanagirl came, and as she requested, we opened it right away and watched it immediately... in case you mised the oh-so-clever reference in the subject line, it was "RENT". THANK YOU, hezmanagirl!!! We both teared up a bit, even though it was something like the fifth time watching it for each of us (and yes, we'd only ever rented it before now...)
And now the other cornerstone of my life: FIC!
Sign-ups for Jagged Little Fics closed, a little belatedly, just now, and I'm looking over the sign-ups, trying to figure out who to give to who and... *headesk* It's not quite the mess it was last year, and I think we're going to get more than two fandoms represented this time, even though we have the exact same number of people. (Only half of which are the same people as last year.)
Also, I just got my "Just Freinds" Ampersand ficathon assingment (not due till October, or I would NEVER have signed up) and... frell me! Give me a hard one, why don't you! *looks balefully over at Braca and Multiverse* Nevermind. And in a way, this *IS* hard - I only get to pick one of these...
Multiverse is away, and good riddence. What a pain that was. A big, festering, horrid pain. And it's a really rubbish peice of work, but it was either turn in rubbish or turn in nothing. *sighs*
Is that Marriage Challange still going, I wonder? The one where two characters are forced to be married? I just got this wicked SG1/A plotbunny for it... Eh, it's best if I stick to the irons already in the fire.
