Continuing in the Same Vein, Sort Of
If you lived in this apartment with its shitty wiring, you wouldn't laugh or call me paranoid when I told you I had a split-second moment of panic when the computer having a moment of indigestion and causing it to pause in the middle of an MP3 coincided wth me flicking off the kitchen light. It was like "OH FUCK I TURNED THE COMPUTER OFF oh it was just stuttering, phew." Seriously.
I flaked out on my game today - had some hanging around time instead. Needed that. Mike might need X hours of uninterrupted gaming a week, I need X hours under which I am under no obligations. Anyway. On to far more pleasent things.
You guys get a good crop of cool things today: A Treatise on Livejournal Ettiquette, as written by someone who's been hitting the Jane Austen a wee bit too muchly lately, namely juleskicks.
Cheer Up, Emo Timelord! Seriously, we need to remember that Ten is a playful, snazzy Doctor, and bookowl has found a way, set to the tune of one of my fave songs of all time, Original Prankster.(Contains clips from Rose, PotW, and ALL of Series 2(8), but isn't really spoilery.) [EDIT: ...you know what? I've just watched it again and screw it!! Even if you don't give two farts about Doctor Who, you need to see this vid for the awesomeness of the editing alone. GOD!!!]
Next, for those of you on my f'list who think a companion doesn't get more awesome than Rose: Sarah Jane Smith, in all her glory. The Two Of Us Have Memories. Shippy or ampersandy, YMMV, but unquestionably awesome. (Not, BTW, that I think SJS is the most Awesome Companion ever. I mean, Ace FTW, DUH!!!. Nobody will ever be more ace than Ace.)
Fianlly, a vid rec for those who don't care about Doctor Who (what the hell's up with you guys?) - here's the (finished, uncensored) Vid to Snakes on a Plane (Bring it!) by DecayDance Records supergoup "Cobra Starship" - the first single off the upcoming soundtrack album to... oh hell, you know which movie. There's a Samuel L Jackson Cameo... Seriously guys, even if you think this whole "SOAP" phenomenon is silly, you must check this thing out because this is about the catchyest, most addictive song I've heard lately. Also, I have discovered in myself a powerful need to vid this song to Blakes7 - and I need somebody to either tell me I'm on crack, or that I'm a genius (or at least that they're on the same crack as me). Seriously, once you listen closely and realize that the song (if not the vid) treats the snakes as metaphorical - it falls into place with B7 nicely I think, if a little B/A-y. Not that many B7 people on my f'list think that's a bad thing.
